about

Inspired by 'Spiegel im Spiegel' composed by Arvo Pärt, Reflections takes on a similar structure where the violin performs a sustained melody which increases in length with each phrase, always returning to the note C until the cycle is completed. The Piano creates an atmosphere of stillness whilst driving the composition forward with each development in the accompaniment. (WINNER of the 2006 Advanced Composition Award in the National Keys Festival). Performed by Benjamin Mibus, Violin and David Mibus, Piano.
